WHAT IS CBD?
CBD – Cannabidiol is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It is a major phytocannabinoid, accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract. CBD is considered to have a wide scope of potential medical applications – due to clinical reports showing the lack of side effects, particularly a lack of psychoactivity (as is typically associated with THC), and non-interference with several psychomotor learning and psychological functions.
CBD HEALTH BENEFITS
Did you know that CBD can help to reduce seizures in children with Dravet Syndrome (infant epilepsy)? What’s more, it is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory. It aids in digestion, assists with side effects of chemotherapy and has shown evidence to help cancer patients. It also has the potential to alleviate the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. Anecdotally, it has benefits for many disease conditions.
CBD isolate is what it sounds like: the extraction of CBD from the cannabis plant so that the subsequent product is “pure” CBD. Companies that do this use some kind of extraction process, likely CO2. They remove unwanted plant material from the extraction, giving you a concentrated CBD isolate, which only amplifies the healing properties of the cannabinoid.
Because it’s already been decarboxylated, there is no need to vape CBD isolate to recieve its benefits. You can simply ingest the isolate and let it go to work. Also keep in mind that consuming isolate (as opposed to smoking a high CBD strain of cannabis) yields you higher concentrations of CBD in smaller amounts, making it a great medicine for those who need it.
